5 Ways for a Spiritual Detox

5 Ways for a Spiritual Detox
5 Ways for a Spiritual Detox

It’s rather fitting for the season of February to focus on letting go.  Out with the old and in with the new.  It’s a little mantra you may know like the back of your hand – but do you use it regularly?  Do you remember to walk the walk as well as talk the talk?  Outing the old from your life is a form of detoxification.  It means to release, let go and remove toxic items from your body.  So let’s explore 5 ways for a Spiritual Detox.

Recently, I posted this on Facebook:

Spirit in Action Report: My body and I are in a state of disagreement. This is never good. I’d resumed some habits which didn’t soothe my physical body. We decided on a detox – I focused on joy and ease during the alignment transition. My body had other ideas – let’s detox fast and furious. Gah! I hit the ‘wall’ yesterday – my body demanding to step back, rest and release. Trying to ease the symptoms, I meditated. I asked for my Guides to be the Clean Up Crew – ever seen AA Michael with his vacuum or Goddess Demeter in an apron? I did. Then I asked for all ‘spiritual dust bunnies’ to leave – what a furry flurry that was. Feeling much better this morning – just watch out for those Dust Bunnies! ♥ Namaste

Releasing toxins may contribute to your body expressing flu-like symptoms.  These symptoms are also similar to those you experience during the Ascension Alignment. Interesting, huh?

Fasting, meditation with crystals, laughter, minimizing significance and dry-bathing are suggestions for easing and encouraging regular detoxification. They are suggestions only as this list is not exclusive by any means.  You may prefer other methods. Just remember – go slowly to encourage EASE.

Read on for more on 5 Ways for a Spiritual Detox

Fasting

Fasting normally means to remove processed foods, caffeinated beverages and alcohol from your diet.  For spiritual detoxification, your diet means all you consume – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  Whether it is food, beverages, medication, daily time cycles, your use of media, sound or emotions, your body is constantly bombarded with toxins through your food, skin, eyes, ears, from within your own mind and from the energetic vibrations around you.

Look to your diet, exercise program, sleep patterns, environment and hobbies. What can you change?

Do you eat too much junk food? Use a computer for long periods? Sit still rather than move your body? Are you getting enough sleep? What do you listen to or watch via technology?

The body too has its rights; and it will have them:  they cannot be trampled on without peril.  The body ought to be the soul’s best friend.  Many good men however have neglected to make it such:  so it has become a fiend and has plagued them.  ~Augustus William Hare and Julius Charles Hare, Guesses at Truth, by Two Brothers, 1827

Your body’s balance is like a set of bagpipes – easily set out of tune!  Look honestly at your lifestyle and release those habits putting you off-key – even just for short periods!  A sound body is a great vessel for a spiritually aligned being.

*Always consult a medical professional before beginning a fast or consider changes to your exercise or medication regimes.

Meditation with crystals

Cord-cutting meditations are an effective way to spiritually detox.  These have been referred to many times throughout the Celticai Studio blog posts.  Today, you will be introduced to a few different crystals known to assist with releasing and detoxification.

Citrine releases old patterns of negativity and helps to bring joy back into your life.

Malachite opens, expands and integrates healing energy through the heart chakra and then to the rest of the body.

Amazonite aligns you with your divine purpose and energises your will to follow its path.

Bloodstone connects your essence to the physical body encouraging the ‘healer’ within to be proactive.

Chryosprase transforms past life issues by releasing the memory in a positive fashion and resolves internal conflicts.

This list represents only a portion of the crystals available for detoxification.

Meditation is the antidote to all the poisons of your life. It is the nourishment of your authentic nature. ~Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

During meditation, you may like to hold the crystal/s in your hand, sit on it, rest it in your lap, or rest them on your chakras – whatever feels right to you.  Some like to place crystals within their mouth during meditation.  Please use your common sense.  I would be concerned about possibly swallowing or choking on the crystal during such a relaxed state.

Laughter

Laughter is the best medicine after all.  A smile a day keeps the doctor away!  The emotional and physical release raises your energetic vibration.  This encourages ‘light-ness’ of being.

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion.  I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward. ~Kurt Vonnegut

Find your smile every day. Listen to comedy shows, read a joke book, start hula-hooping – whatever it takes to bring a smile to your face.  I personally recommend Reflect Radio for helping turn frowns upside down.

Laughing encourages your body to breathe deeply by using the muscles of your diaphragm.  Your body loves to breathe down deep into its abdomen – so laugh, giggle and grin to your heart’s content!

Minimise Significance

Western culture encourages attaching blame or significance to events within your life.  Yes, you lived it – but it is in the past.  The PRESENT is the most important moment. Why? Now is the time when you can do something to change your life.

Have you noticed how you define yourself? I ‘have this’ or I am a (insert blank).  This attaches significance to parts of your life – it encourages attachment to the memory, emotions and the event itself.  By minimizing significance, you are not forgetting all your life events.  Instead, you are stating you are a being of NOW.

Clearing our energetic ties to the past can be as simple as saying: What would it take to clear, cleanse and delete all constructions and destructions of significant events from my energetic imprint? What would it take for me to live in the now with ease, joy and fun?  Now clear it!  Use the Access Consciousness clearing statement or you can use “Clear, cancel, delete”… whatever feels cleansing to you.

Dry Bathing

This is a very simple process you can make part of your daily rituals.  There is a traditional Reiki process called Kenyoku hô (meaning dry bath method).  A simplified version is to centre/ground, breathe in and then, as you breathe out, brush your hands over your body.  You may feel led to focus on the chakras or on your torso, arms, legs and top of the head.  The intent is to purify body, mind and spirit.

Smudging your body with incense is also a form of elemental dry bathing.  Light an incense stick and allow the smoke to drift over and around your body.

When these small rituals are done with intent on a regular basis, the meaning deepens and encourages connection with Source Energy.

Start small with any of these 5 ways to Spiritually Detox.  Go slowly and detox regularly – your body will love you for your attention to its needs!

Psychic Protection – Maintaining your Castle 101

November 15, 2012 by Caithe

Celticai UnicornYou hear a lot of discussion about the value of psychic protection or boundary-setting in the spiritual world. In dream work, we often perceive ourselves as a home or building. I see everyone as an individual castle – where you are the member of royalty reigning within your own body. Before you go all Rapunzel on me, ask your body to show you what your castle looks like. Is it majestic with a moat, towers and the bricks linked with amazing strength? Or is it more like some old ruin – broken, pulled down and overflowing with weeds?
Protecting and maintaining our castle is necessary. We need to be our own Warrior God and Domestic Goddess all rolled up as one. Remember a good defence is a good offence.
Why do we need psychic protection?
We maintain our homes, our gardens, our cars, our tools of trade. Yet few of us maintain the most important part of our lives: ourselves. Looking after our castle makes sense – this isn’t a Fairy Tale where the good fairies pop out to help Cinderella turn the hall into a shining example for Better Homes and Gardens. Psychic protection happens through thought, word and deed.
As energetic beings we are influenced by energy around us. You will often hear the phrase “psychic attack” being bandied around – this rarely happens. This occurs when someone specifically targets you with negative thought and action. More often than not, psychic protection is really aimed at keeping ourselves whole from random and unintentional influence; when energy (either from another person, event or celestial body) vibrates at a different level to our own. How we react to this variations in vibration depends on our psychic protection – our castle maintenance.
Some go into protection mode by either shutting down completely or opening up as wide as the gate that let the Trojan Horse in. Both scenarios represent a castle in ruins.. Energies are able to pour in through the broken lines of defence, leaving us feeling as if a horde of hungry locusts have descended in our life. We are sucked dry of our basic life-force as we endeavour to keep our vibration up.
Instead, the ideal is to be well-defended yet open to feeling what is happening around us. Being self-aware of our true vibration, we may block unnecessary influences from affecting us unduly. Maintaining our castle’s defences allows us to focus on our own healing so we may then be of assistance to others. We become the sanctuary, the safe space with firm boundaries. Our energy and auric field is clear, clean and able to reach out in strength, surety and integrity.
Psychic protection – what to do?
Shakespeare wrote: To thine own self, be true. It’s the fundamental law of protection and one of the hardest to do regularly. The suggestions listed here are merely a guide. It is necessary to develop your own routines and rituals for your everyday ‘castle maintenance’.
Eat and sleep well – the physical body is the first line of defence after all. It needs to be strong. Cleanse your body of all the ‘poison apples’ making you sleepy and bloated during your day. This means eating in moderation, sleeping in moderation and, dare I say it, exercising in moderation. Imagine it as spiritual fitness and training ~ preparing to be the Light Embodiment you truly be.
Commune with your divine being of choice – a short prayer of intention followed by a short meditation begins and ends each day by strengthening your link with Source. My favourite at the moment is: Going to a window or standing outside and taking three meditative deep breaths. I state: Thank you for the magic this day contains and all the miracles within. Thank you for the eyes to see, the heart to feel and the ears to hear. May this day flow with ease, joy and glory for all. What would it take for all positive energies and entities to be present with myself, my family, friends, home and work for the greatest good of all concerned? Namaste.
Cleanse and clear your aura – Whistle while you are cleansing and clearing your aura. It worked for the Seven Dwarves! Seriously, although sound is a wonderful cleanser, there are a few different ways this can be achieved. The easiest is to visualise your aura being cleansed while you are having a shower. Recently, during a healing guidance broadcast on Reflect Radio, Spirit encouraged a lovely lady to tape a crystal to her shower head! (I’m certainly going to try it!) You may also choose to incorporate the use of energy work during your morning routine – applying symbols of protection and cleansing. There is a morning meditation on my YouTube channel incorporating energy clearing.
White Light Protection – Be like the Good Fairy waving a magical wand of light for protection. When you feel uneasy or unbalanced, surround yourself with white light (or whichever colour feels best for you). Imagine zipping yourself up in a soft sleeping bag or surrounding yourself with an egg! Push the edges out to hold your space protectively – push gently with your mind as you do not wish to throw energy at others!
Be aware of your own vibration – Just like Tinkerbelle, we need to know if our energy is heavy or light. This is little tip from Access Consciousness ~ ask your body what is true/truth for you. Feeling light headed or queasy, heavy or hormonal? Ask your body – is this feeling (name it) truly mine? Then listen to the response. You may feel lighter (which I see as a yes) or heavier (no). You may lean forward (yes) or backward (no). It is a simple way to check to see whether energy is yours or not. If you receive a ‘yes’ response, send the emotion back to the person/event/experience. You may choose to say something such as: I return this to sender in full consciousness and with healing attached. Namaste.
Be true to your self within relationships – Be your own Prince Charming and kiss yourself awake! There is no need to be Sleeping Beauty. Surround yourself with people who honour and respect you! Be gentle as you release friends and family from your life. This does not necessarily mean ‘leaving’ in the true sense of the word. Instead, you can cut the cords that bind you together. Your relationship with your Guides also comes under this banner. Using an intention where you state for ‘the highest good’ or who are ‘positive’ helps to keep your energy in a true vibration for you. There is a cord-cutting meditation available for purchase from my eStore if interested.

Learn to say NO – More than likely, if you are reading this, you have a tendency to want to be everything to everyone. As much as we like to think of ourselves as indispensable, we are unable to give of ourselves if we have given too much away. This means taking time to be a little like Shrek – giving ourselves time to just BE.
So, you have some basic tools to begin your Castle Maintenance. You may like to decorate your space with crystals such as Sugilite, Amber, Malachite, Black Tourmaline, Smokey Quartz, Rutilated Quartz, Chiastolite, Black Obsidian Stone and/or Amethyst Crystals. Not only are they pretty, they are wonderful protection stones too. You may like to learn Reiki or Runes to effectively use tools to harness and direct the protection around you and your loved ones. First and foremost, focus on yourself as this is the only effective change you have control over. If you are unsure where to start, I would suggest a Holistic Healing or Reiki session to help your body repair your innate defences.

Defining your Values

October 29, 2012 by Caithe

Today’s healing event is a little different – it is directed at understanding and healing yourself.  We talked about defining your values in the Working with Taurus Full Moon Energy.  It’s difficult to live your values if you don’t know what they are.   So, with that in mind, I am excited to guide you through the process of identifying your values.   My dictionary defines a value as “something (as a principle or quality) intrinsically valuable or desirable.”  Sounds good to me!

Discovering and clarifying your values develops self-awareness.  For many of us, life has gotten in the way by telling us what we SHOULD value.  Many true values have slipped unseen into the cracks of modern society – leaving our core selves feeling entrapped and embittered.

However, knowing your own values, you then know your own self – whether you are fighting the ‘good fight’ or battling your true nature.  Please remember that values can change!

Step 1 – Take out your journal, or a blank piece of paper, and write at the top ‘My Core Values.’ Then answer this important life question:

“What, in life, is most important to me?”

As I read out this list, write down whatever resonates with you as being worthy.  A little tip here is not to make any judgments at this stage. Just write it all down – no matter how weird, strange, amusing or scary!

This is by no means a comprehensive list – if you Google Values, you will find hundreds of online lists:

health        security     respect for others        education   creativity

equality     appearance        happiness   competition        health

hope conforming social recognition authority    religion

perfectionism      relationships       responsibility       trust  loyalty

pleasure     peace        altruism (care for others)      participation       honesty

assertiveness      caring        forgiveness       courage       kindness

loyalty       tolerance   unity integrity     power

joy    influence    love  justice       success

spirituality  friendship   family        career       fame

truth  status        authenticity               wisdom       acceptance

health        passion      risk   enthusiasm   optimism

caring        compassion           excellence       innovation  balance

teamwork  fun    open-mindedness        results

achievement       fairness      decisiveness       ? ?    ? ?

Step 2 – Look at your list, ask yourself: What does each word mean to me?

Jot down your responses and you will begin to see key words jumping out at you.  Perhaps Money and Spirituality both lead to the one thing: Freedom.  Neither money nor spirituality are your true value here, freedom is!

Step 3 – Choose no more than five values from your total list. These should be the things that are the most important to you in life. Now put your list of values into order from what’s most important to least important.

Writing each value on a separate sticky note can help you with this process.  Asking the following question can help you identify the ranking of your values: “If I had to live my life without one of these values, which one would I give up?”

I know! It is a difficult process as all your values are important to you.  Keep asking until you have your most important – you cannot live without – value.  Write them all out in the order you created – make a bright, memorable poster, poem, sign or just stick the sticky notes to your mirror.

Step 4 – Rewrite your top three values in order on the blanks below. Then for each value, write a definition, a statement of what it means to you to be successful in living that value. At the end of your life, looking back, how will you know if you’ve been successful in that area?

Congratulations! You’ve just created a core values creed for living your own life – it reflects the essence and the importance of you. Let your creed become your standard for being the person you truly be. Referring to it regularly, helps you align your behaviour to your core values.

For example, if spirituality is important to you – yet you do not find time for communion with your Divine Being of choice, your values and behaviours do not match.  This is where the Taurus Full Moon energy asks you to be the spiritual being having a physical existence.  Make changes to your life to reflect your creed!

If you are a little like me, your head may be hurting. This exercise will be going up on my website as a blog post for you to access at a later date.  At least, hopefully, you have a start!
